Oolong Tea, the Wonderful Tea in the World

Oolong tea, also referred to as green tea, is a type of Chinese tea renowned for its distinctive semi-fermentation process and aroma. Originating in Fujian Province, China, it gradually spread to other regions such as Guangdong and Taiwan. Legend has it that its name, "Oolong tea," stems from a tea farmer who, while busy and forgetting the exact fermentation time during tea processing, accidentally created a tea with a unique aroma.

The caffeine in Oolong tea can invigorate the mind and improve concentration. Its tea polyphenols and other components offer antioxidant properties that combat free radicals. Additionally, the polyphenols aid digestion and stimulate appetite.

Dahongpao, the King of Tea

Dahongpao is a premium tea cultivated in Wuyishan, Fujian Province, China. It falls under the category of Oolong tea and is renowned for its distinct rock essence, aroma, and artisanal production techniques.

The name "Dahongpao" originates from a legend. According to the tale, during the Ming Dynasty, a student fell ill while studying for the imperial examination in Wuyi Mountain. After drinking tea brewed from Dahongpao leaves by a monk, the student recovered and later achieved the top score in the examination. In gratitude, he draped his red robe (Dahongpao) over the tea tree. Since then, this tea has been known as "Dahongpao".

The fragrance of Dahongpao fills the room, and the fragrance of rock rhyme is refreshing

The first time I experienced Dahongpao, I was captivated by its smooth fragrance, which soon filled the tea room.

Dahongpao possesses a distinctive rock essence derived from its growth in rocky crevices, absorbing minerals that enrich its flavor profile. Its aroma is diverse, encompassing floral, fruity, and creamy notes, with a rich and enduring fragrance. The dry leaves of Dahongpao are dark and lustrous, tightly rolled, yielding an orange or golden-hued tea liquor that is mellow and full-bodied, offering a quick onset of flavors and a lingering aftertaste.

For aficionados of Oolong tea, I highly recommend experiencing the king of teas—Dahongpao.

Dahongpao that can't be missed

This Dahongpao originates from Wuyi Mountain, where it benefits from the gentle sun and rain of the region. It is meticulously crafted from single buds sourced from high-altitude tea trees. Following specialized processes including withering, rolling, and baking, it yields a pure tea liquor in just 20 seconds when brewed with hot water around 95℃. This tea is exceptionally versatile and can produce 8-10 cups of robust and aromatic brew from each serving.

Brew a cup of good tea carefully

Select a ceramic or glass cup and place the tea leaves into the teapot. It's typically suggested to use 5-7 grams of tea leaves per 150 ml of water. Heat water to approximately 95-100℃. Begin by gently moistening the tea leaves with hot water, then pour it out—this step is known as "washing the tea". Refill the cup with hot water and adjust the steeping time based on personal preference, usually around 20-30 seconds.

Enjoy Chinese tea

In addition to Dahongpao, we've introduced a Chinese tea sampler. This gift box offers a delightful experience, allowing you to savor the delicacy of green tea, the smoothness of oolong tea, the richness of black tea, the freshness of white tea, the aroma of scented tea, and the robustness of pu-erh tea. Enjoy a cup of Chinese tea and explore the myriad flavors of life.

Good tea with good utensils

Water is essential for brewing tea, while the utensils used play a crucial role in enhancing the tea-drinking experience. Quality tea deserves to be brewed with excellent teaware. The ceramics, black pottery, purple clay bowls, and hammered silver cups we recommend are all exceptional choices for teaware, offering superior quality and worth your consideration.
